Siebert Williams Shank adds five finance professionals

Siebert Williams Shank has hired five senior and junior public finance professionals across the country, with the intention of expanding the firm’s footprint.

Their responsibilities will include transaction execution, client relationship management, and quantitative analysis. Two will be based in Siebert’s New York City office, two in its Oakland, California, office, and one in its Houston office. They will serve clients in the Southeast, Northeast, Texas and California.

“We are so honored to have these talented young professionals join our firm,” said Gary Hall, president and head of infrastructure and public finance at Siebert. “These additions also evidence our commitment to building and maintaining a best-in-class public finance platform for the present and future.”

Alexa Chukwumah joins Siebert as vice president of infrastructure and public finance to cover the Southeast out of the New York office.

Siebert hired Alexa Chukwumah as vice president of infrastructure and public finance to cover the Southeast out of the New York office. Chukwumah most recently spent three years in Citi’s public finance department working with prominent non-profit healthcare clients, including Northwell Health, SSM Health, and UCLA Health.

Before that, the Brown University graduate was a sales and trading analyst at Citi, working on the repo sales desk and fixed-income solutions team.

Chukwumah said she wanted a dynamic and fast-growing firm dedicated to serving public finance clients where she could expand its work with not-for-profit healthcare clients.

Jillian Solomon

Jillian Solomon, hired as an infrastructure and public finance associate, will work out of Siebert’s Oakland office.

Jillian Solomon, hired as an infrastructure and public finance associate, will work out of Siebert’s Oakland office to structure debt for municipal clients in the West region.

Solomon was previously a municipal bond insurance underwriter at Assured Guaranty. She holds an MBA and a Master of Urban Planning degree from Columbia University.

Jingyu "Iris" Li , Nyomi Thomas and Francis Akomeah were also hired.

Jingyu “Iris” Li will provide banking support to Southeast clients from the New York office. Li has a strong background in quantitative analysis and investment banking, having worked at Rice Financial and Sycamore Advisors.

Li holds a Master of Public Administration with a specialization in public finance from New York University and a degree in sociology from Peking University.

Nyomi Thomas, an infrastructure and public finance analyst, will work on banking execution for municipal clients in Texas from the Houston office. Thomas appreciates Siebert’s commitment to fostering diversity and innovation in finance. She holds a B.S. in applied economics and management from Cornell University’s Dyson School of Business.

Siebert hired Francis Akomeah to be infrastructure and public finance analyst, working out of the New York office. He will provide support on transactions, request for proposals, and offer quantitative analysis for the Northeast team.

Akomeah has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Princeton University.
