Wilmington Trust hired Troy Pitman as a senior client development officer as it continues to expand the western presence of its institutional client services practice.
Most recently, Pitman worked at BNY Mellon for more than 18 years, ascending to senior vice president of sales and relationship manager within the firm’s corporate trust division. While at BNY, he administered a public finance portfolio as a client service manager, working his way up from trust associate.
“Troy brings a strong track record of success and a thoughtful approach to client engagement that will strengthen our presence in the Western region,” Laron Galea, sales leader for Wilmington Trust’s institutional services business, said in a statement. “I’m confident Troy will make a meaningful impact as we continue to grow and evolve our business.”
Pitman will work out of the bank’s Costa Mesa, California, office, on the five-member public finance and client development team.
Pitman has worked on public finance transactions in the following sectors: transportation, infrastructure, higher education, healthcare, housing, energy and all levels of state and local government.
Pitman said he wasn’t looking for another opportunity, but the professionalism and enthusiasm of the people on the Wilmington team encouraged him to make the jump.
His position at Wilmington Trust will be more of a “pure business development role,” he said.
At BNY, he had a more hybrid role with direct client coverage responsibilities, while his new position will be working with intermediaries to cultivate new business.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington with a concentration in business administration.
