Siebert's Audrey Chu to receive WPF's Claire Goodman Rising Star award

Audrey Chu, an investment banking associate in the Oakland office of Siebert Williams Shank & Co., has been named the Claire Goodman Rising Star for 2003 by the Women in Public Finance.

Chu will accept the award at September’s Women in Public Finance national conference in Washington, D.C., where Mayor Muriel Bowser will serve as welcome speaker.

“Audrey Chu has been a fantastic addition to our Infrastructure and Public Finance team. Her work as both an analyst and an associate has been outstanding and undoubtedly deserving of the Claire Goodman Rising Star award.” said Gary Hall, president of Infrastructure and Public Finance for Siebert Williams Shank & Co.

“It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization for work that has become a passion of mine,” said Audrey Chu, an investment banking associate at Siebert Williams Shank & Co.

The Claire Goodman Rising Star Award recognizes one young female professional in the field of public finance annually, who has demonstrated consistent and remarkable progress in her contributions to the profession, displaying higher levels of leadership, responsibility, and influence within her sphere of impact.

Recipients must be under the age of 35 and have less than seven years’ experience in the industry.

Chu was promoted to investment banking associate in the group Hall heads in March 2023. Prior to her promotion, she had been an investment banking analyst in the same group since 2020.

“It is an honor to be recognized by such a prestigious organization for work that has become a passion of mine,” Chu said. “I am grateful that in my career I can serve local governments and work alongside so many inspiring mentors.”

Each year the organization bestows three banquet awards – the Lifetime Achievement Award, the She’s Our Hero Award, and the Claire Goodman Rising Star Award. The Rising Star award was recently re-named after the late Claire Goodman, a financial advisor and director in PFM Financial Advisors’ Chicago office who died in 2022 at age 41.
